Customer Service Representative - Tier 2
Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) is a public utility proudly serving the citizens of Columbia and Maury County Tennessee since 1939. CPWS has an open Customer Service Representative – Tier 2 position. The CSR – Tier 2 is responsible for assisting customers applying for service connections and disconnections for CPWS service; fully managing all the needs for customers desiring service with CPWS; and promoting broadband internet sales.
The primary duties & responsibilities of this position include:
- Explain account types, CPWS services, and billing items to customers
- Evaluate customer requests for connection and disconnection of services, whether in-person or online, and determine if service is available at the requested location.
- Determine deposits that may be required.
- Review application for service to ensure completeness, including any customer supplied documents as required by policy.
- Communicate clearly with the customer to ensure the customer’s expectations for service order dates are understood.
- Enter service order information for any service into the customer information system (CIS). Ensure that all services are included and are coded correctly for service and tax amounts.
- For tax exempt customers, ensure that proper documentation is provided and scanned on the account.
- Enter information into necessary computer systems accurately and in the correct format.
- Ability to understand and appropriately vet customer applications.
- Ability to promptly and accurately respond to customer email.
- Ability to work assigned shift rotations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 4 years of customer service experience required.
- Proficiency in speaking Spanish preferred.
- Experience in the utility industry preferred.
- Experience using utility software such as NISC preferred.
