About the Speaker
Jay Strobino entered the United States Army in 2002 directly after graduating high school. He deployed to Iraq for the initial invasion in 2003 with the 1/502d Infantry Division. His second deployment to Iraq was in 2005. During this deployment, Strobino was in a firefight where he was shot thirteen times on February 1, 2006 in Rushdi Mulla, Iraq. Strobino was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his actions. He medically retired from the Army in 2008.
Strobino went on to graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Exercise Science and minor in Biology in 2015. He could not have graduated without the assistance from the university's Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center. While receiving his degree Strobino worked full time at Home Depot. After graduation, he worked for Coca Cola, Publix Pharmacy and helped start American Excavation LLC. Strobino is now a Field Representative for U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn.
Strobino is involved in various veteran’s organizations, including Operation Stand Down. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Apprentice Academy. He currently resides in Nashville, TN with his fiancé Grace Burch.
