Description
Note: Speaker update
At this lunch we will hear about entrepreneurship from three unique perspectives. David Baxter falls into the 'serial entrepreneur' category with over 20 years of starting, running and growing successful businesses. Pete Prevost started with a hobby and grew it into full production pipe factory, which he relocated to Columbia in 2018. Kathryn York is in the early stages of entrepreneurship where she is finally realizing a life long dream of business ownership. Each speaker is in a different stage of the entrepreneurship journey, but all have a story to share.

Pete Prevost www.briarworksusa.com
Pete Prevost grew up in Bakersfield, CA and developed an early interest in music. That interest led to a career as a professional musician and a move to Nashville. During that time Pete started making handmade tobacco pipes as a hobby during downtime on tour. In 2012 Pete’s career took a decidedly pipe-centric focus, when he helped start BriarWorks, a tobacco pipe factory. Pete has been involved in every phase of development at BriarWorks, including design, production, and the daily responsibilities of running a business. In 2016, Pete was promoted to President of BriarWorks and now manages all of the day to day operations. In 2018 Pete moved BriarWorks to Columbia, and additionally opened a pipe, cigar, and beer lounge inside of their factory building located on Main Street. When Pete isn’t working hard at BriarWorks he spends most of his time being a husband and father to his lovely family Melissa, Bennet, and Lawson.
