About the Speaker:
Deborah Varallo, a Nashville native and graduate of Baylor University, founded Varallo Public Relations, a full-service marketing, social media, public relations and crisis management firm in 1991. VPR provides support to professional service firms such as architects, engineers, contractors and to the legal, financial and healthcare industry. She has been featured in local, regional and national publications for the firm’s work. The firm has recognized for their out-reach and community projects.
Deborah has been named to Nashville Post’s InCharge list since it was established and named to their All-Star Board. She is a Society of Fellows for TEDxNashville and recognized by the YWCA of Middle Tennessee as Woman of Achievement. She is a Mentor for the Leadership Catholic 2019 Class.
She is president-elect of the International Women’s Forum – Tennessee Chapter and was recently elected to serve on the Nashville State Community College Foundation and Catholic Business League boards. She is past board chair for Leadership Middle Tennessee (LMT), Leadership Nashville and is a graduate of Leadership Music. She chaired the Leadership Nashville Alumni Association and the Leadership Middle Tennessee Alumni Board; and was president of LMT’s 2004 class. Additional boards included: Rotary Club of Nashville, The Women’s Fund, Catholic Charities of TN, YWCA of Middle Tennessee, Center for Nonprofit Management, and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.
She served as Community Chair for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee, co-chaired the Celebration of Mission to Service fundraiser for Catholic Charities of Tennessee; co-chaired the Girl Scouts major fundraiser and is active at St. Stephen Catholic Community. She was honored by the Women’s Political Collaborative of Tennessee for her community service.
Deborah is married to Jim Varallo, owner of Varallo Investment Properties. They live in Old Hickory and spend their free time boating. They have a daughter, Mary Kathleen Varallo Hayes, who is a Senior Communications Director at FedEx. She lives in Memphis with her husband - a manager with Amazon.
