Description

Join Maury Alliance and the Spring Hill Chamber for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating "Our Chance," the new family coaching initiative at The Well Outreach.
_

The Well Outreach, a 17-year old Food Ministry located in Spring Hill, Tennessee,  is excited to announce their inaugural Family Coaching initiative, the “Our Chance” program.

The Well through the “Our Chance” program will work with 75 local Maury County families in-need  to help move them into a position of greater economic and financial stability. To accomplish this, the Well will offer family coaching services, plus the resource pillars of transportation, housing, childcare, education, and employment.

Partnering with the Martha O’Bryan center in Nashville, Tn, (the grant originator), The Well represented Maury County on the grant steering committee, and aided in the seven-county initiative to win one of the seven $25 million dollar TANF grants awarded state-wide.

The Well serving as the Maury County Grant Administrator will partner with the TAEM (Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility) team, a public-private partnership of 31 organizations across all seven counties.

The goal of the “Our Chance” program is to provide support to families attempting to move through the “benefits cliff” as they try to improve their jobs and lifestyle.

The benefits cliff, the point at which a family abruptly loses access to government benefits due to an increase in income, leaves families in-need in a worse financial situation.

The “Our Chance” program aims to dispel the myth that families are not motivated to move forward. The truth is that they are making the most fiscally responsible decision possible for their families, and in doing so they have to limit their potential.

The Well will work alongside 75 local Maury County families for three years to support them in moving beyond the benefits cliff and to demonstrate that when families have the incentive to move forward that they will.

For more information on the Our Chance program please visit the Well Outreach website at springhillwell.org,  or to apply for the Maury County Our Chance program stop by the Well’s 5306 Main Street location, 9-4pm Monday thru Friday.

The Well Outreach also offers a Food Pantry with an open-shop, client-choice model where guests in need can come two times a month for food. The Well Food Pantry is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9:30-2 plus Tuesday-Thursday evenings from 6-8pm. Currently the Well is serving 800+ families a month with food thru their Food Pantry. The Well also feeds at-risk Students with a JetPack weekend feeding program and supports 25 local Williamson and Maury County Schools and over 1000 students a week.

The “Our Chance” Well ribbon cutting and Open House will be hosted at 409 McLemore/Well campus on Friday April 21 from 2-4pm and will include light refreshments plus an immersive art experience highlighting the life of a family going through the benefits cliff, and how the Well’s Our Chance program can offer support, hope and a better chance at economic stability.

For more information please contact the Well’s CEO, Shelly Sassen at shelly@springhillwell.org or (615) 479-5617.
